KDD Mentorschap
What is mentorship?
Mentorship is a legal protective measure for adults who cannot independently safeguard their personal interests in care, nursing, treatment and guidance.

The role of a mentor
✓Consulting with doctors, supervisors and care providers
✓Thinking along about treatment, guidance and living arrangements
✓Monitoring whether care matches the client’s interests and wishes
✓Maintaining contact with family and other involved parties
Mentorship is not financial guardianship
A mentor safeguards personal and care-related interests. Financial matters generally fall under financial guardianship. Both measures can exist alongside each other.
